The department is engaged in the research of metabolic controls in microorganisms, animals and plants, and in bioanalytical chemistry. The research is funded predominantly from grant agencies. Department lecturers, research workers, undergraduate (about 20 students per year) and postgraduate students participate in the research. The Department collaborates with several Czech and foreign institutions. The research results contribute to the solution of important problems in environment protection, biotechnology, the food industry, pharmacology and medicine. |
