The Masaryk Memorial Cancer Institute in Brno is a comprehensive cancer centre, serving the whole republic. It concentrates in one place all medical fields and specializations needed for comprehensive oncological care, namely prevention, epidemiology, diagnostics, the particular therapeutical modalities (surgery, chemotherapy, external radiotherapy and brachyradiotherapy, immunotherapy, hormonotherapy, suppotive therapy), physiotherapy, permanent follow-up; here there is material and intellectual potential for scientific and research work incl. the basal research, necessary for the progress in oncology. The Institute was established by the Ministry of Health.
