Henningsvaer, Lofoten, Norway (August 18-22, 2005)
The overall objective of the workshop is to identify the most promising pathways for future research within the genetic control of T cell activation and promote contacts between young and experienced scientists involved in research on various aspects of T cell biology, autoimmune disease and cancer, in order to form a basis for future international collaborative efforts. At the workshop, investigators that are involved in research on T cell biology, in particular early T cell activation events, will meet researchers that are involved in dissection of the genetic susceptibility of diseases and development of therapy for cancer and autoimmune disease. It is hoped that this encounter will generate collaborative projects which subsequently will lead to novel and improved methods for treating patients suffering from cancer and autoimmune diseases.
