Fenugreek je pradávná výživná rostlina a koření a patří do čeledi luštěnin. Fenugreek je jednoletý a až 60 centimetrů vysoký. Název fenugreek se odvozuje od latinského slova foenum-graecum (=řecky seno). Další označení jsou pískavice modrá, jetel kravský roh, kozí roh, jelení zázračné zelí.
Dánská společnost má patentovanou specifickou metodu k získání aktivních látek ze semen pískavice, které mohou být použity v potravinách. Společnost hledá malé a střední podniky pro technickou spolupráci, dále hledá dietní sestry, odborníky na výživu (domovy pro seniory a nemocnice) a společnosti, které vyrábí jogurty pro započetí spolupráce v této oblasti.


Description:

The first product is the galactomannan fenugreek gum which is to seek health claims in a development project. The consultant now also starts extracting other active compounds from the seed.
Since there is a need for specific research to obtain health claims and study in fields of applications, the consultant together with RTD performers conducts some research studies to validate the compounds' effects in various fields.

SMEs are seeked for technical cooperation as to the production of the gum, nutritional and diabetic aspects and the food formulation (food and beverages).
Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements of the request

Large tanks (one or two jacketed tanks) for the gum extraction purposes and access to large volumes of water. Presence of a reboiler would be an advantage as well as product drying facilities. The production shall meet food grade standards.

SME, a dietitian/nutritionist company (directing efforts to the diabetic area - old peoples' homes and hospitals):
The dietitian is to have a knowledge of the nutritional requirements of old people, especially people who have diabetes type 1 or 2. The problem of obstipation in old people can be eased by the introduction of meals which contain the product.

SME diary company who produces yoghurts:
The producer is to make spoonable (eaten with a spoon) versions of yoghurt and also to have the possibility to introduce nutritional ingredients by way of emulsification in yoghurts.

SME, a food formulator who is to bring the products to the market (marketing):
The food formulator is to have facilities and knowledge of emulsion and stabilization of drinks/food/desserts. This embraces the introduction of nutritional trace ingredients (eg. anti-inflammatory agents etc.)

SME who is able to produce the product for the project and eventually for the commercial market:
The partner is to be able to use the production facilities that he/she possesses to produce the required quantities of the product which are required for the project. The method of production shall be provided by the consultant who has developed the extraction method. There should be a possibility of expanding the production on a commercial scale. An existing pilot plant can be used.
