Řešení pro zvýšení hydrofobicity nanovláknových materiálů pro outdoorové oblečení.

Česká společnost vyvíjí a vyrábí zařízení pro výrobu nanovláken od laboratorního po průmyslové měřítko a hledá partnera schopného poskytnout řešení, které by zvýšilo hydrofobicitu těchto nanovláken. Koneční produkty (hydrofobizované vrstvy nanovláken) budou použity jako membrána pro outdoorové oblečení.

Description:
Nanofiber materials, thanks to their distinguished parameters are important elements in many high-tech components and products in diverse business fields (e.g. air filtration, liquid filtration, acoustic material, health care, textile, etc.). The materials are also very promising for outdoor performance apparel. Main advantages of nanofiber membranes are their very good breathability thank to their membrane nature. Electrospun nanofiber webs can be engineered with a desired porous structure and a range of polymers (typically PUR or PA)
As very good breathability needs to be accompanied with a very good hydrophobicity, the company is looking for a partner that is capable to deliver an interesting solution applicable to both naturally hydrophobic and hydrophilic nanofiber materials whose hydrostatic resistance is currently not sufficient to be regarded for a final product. The solution has to permit mass production of the final fabric while breathability of the membrane should not be seriously affected (maximum decrease in air permeability is expected to be, in the worst case, 40%).
Hydrophobisation could be achieved by any kind of principle (e.g. coating of prepared NFL, add additives to polymer solutions or by any other principle), however, its mass production capability needs to be ensured. Hydrophobisation treatment has to meet the following target properties:

• Homogeneity of treatment
• Reproducibility of treatment
• Repeatability of treatment
• Durability = washing tests – treatment should survive at least 5 washing cycles with detergent (ISO/EN 6330:2000)
• Almost no/slight change in fiber diameters (up to 5% for 200-400 nm fiber typically) to avoid decrease in air permeability
• No harmfull/toxic/irritating substances should be present at the surface of nanofiber after hydrophobization treatment
Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements of the request
Basic products parameters tested on nanofiber membranes designed for performance apparel products are:
• Hydrostatic resistance (ISO 20811:1992)
• Breathability (e.g. evaporative resistance – ISO/EN 11092; water vapour transmission rate: ASTM E 96, Procedure B; ASTM 96, Procedure BW; JIS L 1099 Method B2)
• Air permeability (EN/ISO 9237)
