Typ práce: hlavní pracovní poměr
Postdoctoral Researcher in the laboratory of Prof. Marek Basler at the Biozentrum of University of Basel (full time position) Imaging dynamics of the bacterial Type VI secretion system assembly and substrate delivery.
The Type VI secretion system (T6SS) is a unique protein-translocating bacterial nanomachine that is fascinating from several points of view:
In this project we aim to significantly improve the state of the art of T6SS imaging to understand fundamental principles of T6SS assembly and substrate delivery. We will primarily focus on the following biological questions: How is T6SS assembly initiated, regulated and localized? What are the sequential steps of T6SS
assembly? How are T6SS substrates recognized and delivered?
Qualifications:
Candidates holding a PhD diploma with a strong background in advanced fluorescence microscopy of live bacteria are encouraged to apply. Experience with TIRF, PALM, FRAP, FRET, single molecule tracking as well as image analysis is of an advantage. The working language is English.
How to apply:
Please, send your CV (max 3 pages), a brief description of previous research experience (1 page), a motivation letter describing your interests in our lab (1 page), and the names of two references to Dr. Anne-Cécile Hiebel: basler-recruitment@unibas.ch. Deadline: Jan-30-2015.
