Lab Technician

We are looking for a colleague who would like to assist in various research projects in the areas of plant molecular and cell biology as part of -Developmental and Cell Biology of Plants-. -Hormonal Crosstalk in Plant Development- and -Plant Stress Signalling and Adaptation- Groups of Genomics and Proteomics of Plant Systems Research Programme of CEITEC. Responsibilities will include:

• Lab material growth media and routine buffers preparation/Material stock (glass material, autoclaving, washing material).
• Maintainsing inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Constructing, maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment, for example centrifuges, titrators, pipetting machines and pH meters;
• Ensuring the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced; lab consumables ordering preparation.
• Following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks.
• Performing essential laboratory functions including basic molecular and cell biology techniques.

Desired expertise and skills

A suitable candidate should have a minimum of Bachelor Degree in the area of Life sciences, excellent organization and English communication skills, ability to complete multiple complex lab preparations according to a strict time table. Some coursework in microbiology, cell biology, plant physiology is preferred.
