7th "Horizons in Molecular Biology" meeting

Göttingen, Germany (September 27-30, 2010)

The symposium is organized by PhD students of the International Max Planck Research School for Molecular Biology at the University of Göttingen and is under the patronage of the Federal Minister of Education and Research, Prof. Dr. Annette Schavan.

Like in the past, the PhD student symposium features many renowned scientists as speakers. Luis Serrano, Maria Leptin and last year’s Nobel Prize winner Venkatraman Ramakrishnan are just some of them. Continuing the successful interdisciplinary mixture, there will be the already established sessions on cell biology, neurosciences, developmental biology and structural biology and this year’s special session - future of biology. Since the Molecular Biology program celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, we are especially proud to have some Alumni presenting their research, too.

The Horizons meeting offers an excellent platform for established researchers and young (molecular) biologists to meet and discuss science. Especially PhD students profit from the chance to present their own research in a poster or a talk and get valuable input in an international surrounding.

We invite you to have a look at the program at www.horizons.uni-goettingen.de. Early registration deadline is July 31, however registration is possible until the start of the meeting. Please keep in mind though that abstracts have to be submitted by July 31.

It has become a tradition that the Horizons meeting is preceded by a Career Fair that will include presentations on various career opportunities, the possibility to directly meet with representatives of interesting companies, CV-check, live-interview and much more. The Career Fair will take place on September 27. Participation in the Career Fair is free of charge.

This year, both events will take place at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry.
