Center intends to integrate selected areas of basic research in the field into a mutually related and cooperating unit, offering an experimental basis for research in cell therapy and tissue replacement on a level comparable with the highest standards in the developed countries of the EU and the U.S.A. In addition to the research into new medical preparations and approaches and their timely pre-clinical testing, another goal of the Center is to promote the international recognition of our scientific community in this field. The practical goals of the Center can reasonably be achieved through the concurrent development, on the one hand, of new medical polymers exhibiting optimal interaction with in vitro differentiated cells, and of procedures to provide suitable cell lines on the other.
